WWDI Sports & Nutrition Dietetic Internship Program teams up with professional and collegiate teams

Wellness Workdays, a leading provider of worksite wellness programs, has partnered with five professional and collegiate sports teams to provide an unparalleled opportunity for students in the Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship (WWDI) program. Dietetic interns studying sports nutrition will be selected to work with one of the following organizations: the Boston Celtics, the Washington Redskins, the Utah Jazz, the University of Notre Dame and Duke University.

Founded by Wellness Workdays’ CEO Debra Wein, the WWDI is one of the largest and most innovative dietetic internships in the country. The unique, immersive educational program is designed to meet the individual needs and interests of a group of dynamic, inspiring individuals seeking to become Registered Dietitians. Students accepted into the ACEND-accredited program can select from one of three areas of practice: worksite wellness and health promotion, nutrition communications and marketing, and sports nutrition and entrepreneurship.

“The WWDI sports nutrition and entrepreneurship concentration has expanded over the years and several of our graduates are now top nutritionists for these elite competitive sports teams,” said Debra Wein, MS, RDN, CEO of Wellness Workdays and Program Director of the WWDI. “The students selected to complete rotations with these organizations will learn about the issues that impact competitive and world-class athletes from some of the most prominent experts in sports nutrition and dietetics. We are excited to bring this extraordinary opportunity to our interns.”

The WWDI accepts 95 interns annually and prepares each graduating dietitian to be a leader in their chosen field. For students interested in studying sports nutrition, the WWDI’s strong ties with renowned sports teams provides an opportunity to gain real-world experience and a competitive advantage in the job marketplace after graduation. Complete details about the WWDI and all three concentrations are available on Wellness Workdays’ website. The deadline to apply for the 2019-2020 class is February 15. Learn more and apply today.
