Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship Program
Wellness Workdays offers one of the most innovative dietetic internships in the country!
Wellness Workdays offers a unique distance education-based program, designed to meet the individual needs and interests of a group of dynamic, inspiring individuals seeking to become Registered Dietitians with a focus on wellness, health promotion, and disease prevention. To learn more about how to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, click here.
The WWDI allows interns to complete their supervised practice requirements in their local settings using sites and preceptors of their choice. Interns are required to find qualified preceptors in the areas of clinical/MNT (400 hours), food service management (180 hours), community nutrition (180 hours), and WWDI concentration (240 hours) to complete their requirements.
Effective January 1, 2024, the minimum degree requirement will be a graduate degree granted by a USDE recognized institution (or foreign equivalent). More information can be found here. As of Fall 2022, prospective interns must have already obtained a graduate degree, apply to one of our combined Masters-DI programs, or show proof of acceptance into a graduate program prior to applying to WWDI.
Following acceptance to the program, interns are required to attend a virtual Orientation (in July), and virtual Commencement (in April). Supervised rotations will begin in July following orientation.
To graduate and complete the internship requirements, you must satisfy the minimum 1000 supervised practice hours, obtain a graduate degree, complete all didactic hours, assignments, rotation evaluations, practice exams and complete an exit interview at program completion. To apply, click here.
RDNs/NDTRs are required to be licensed/certified in some states. There are no licensure requirements for providing nutrition care in Massachusetts. For more information, review the state specific regulations and/or contact the state licensing boards/agency using the links on CDR's licensure webpage.
The WWDI program offers you the option to
complete your Dietetic Internship and
earn your Masters Degree at the same time.
Apply once and gain dual acceptance into a Masters degree program and dietetic internship.

Note from ACEND
Effective January 1, 2024, the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) will require a minimum of a master’s degree to be eligible to take the credentialing exam to become a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN). In order to be approved for registration examination eligibility with a bachelor’s degree, an individual must meet all eligibility requirements and be submitted into CDR's Registration Eligibility Processing System (REPS) before 12:00 midnight Central Time, December 31, 2023. For more information about this requirement visit CDR's website: https://www.cdrnet.org/graduatedegree. In addition, CDR requires that individuals complete coursework and supervised practice in program(s) accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). Graduates who successfully complete the ACEND-accredited dietetic internship program at Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship are eligible to apply to take the CDR credentialing exam to become an RDN.
In most states, graduates also must obtain licensure or certification to practice. For more information about state licensure requirements click here.

"I enjoyed so many things about the WWDI program. The different concentration options, the flexibility, the WWDI team, the awesome networking opportunity, the amazing communication, the level of professionalism from all staff members, how helpful everyone is, my advisor was by far the best advisor ever. I can go on and on, I absolutely love this program. I learned a lot and felt part of the team. I met amazing people all over the country, with whom I hold a close friendship with now thanks to this program. This program provided me the best experience I could ask for."
