Debra founded Wellness Workdays in 2004 and has over 20 years of experience working in the health and wellness industry. She is a nationally recognized expert on health and wellness designing award-winning programs for organizations across the country. She is also the Program Director of the Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship, one of the largest nationally accredited programs in the United States, training future Registered Dietitians in the areas of worksite wellness and health promotion, nutrition and entrepreneurship, and nutrition communications and marketing. Debra holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in nutritional sciences and applied physiology from Cornell and Columbia Universities.
Debra’s success has presented her with a variety of opportunities. She is a member of the Steering Committee and Director of Alumnae Engagement for the President’s Council of Cornell Women (PCCW), a group of highly accomplished women including Judge Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Janet Reno, Senator Gabriella Giffords, Mae Jemison, Irene Rosenfeld and many others; a member of the Cornell University College of Human Ecology Dean’s Advisory Council; and a member of the Executive Committee of the American Cancer Society’s Women Leading the Way to Wellness.
Wellness Workdays is currently embarking on a research project with its partner, Harvard School of Public Health and its client, BJ's Wholesale Club. The study is currently funded with approximately $2.5 million in funds from sources including The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, JPAL, an MIT affiliate, CIGNA and NBER (Harvard). The goal is to study the effectiveness of worksite wellness programs on employee health, productivity and ROI.

Prior speaking and presentation engagements include the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans, the American Cancer Society, the Health Benefits Conference & Expo, the Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo, Cornell University, Columbia University, the New England Employee Benefits Council, the Northeast Human Resources Association, the Cape Cod Human Resources Association, the Massachusetts Association of Health Underwriters, the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce, the MetroWest Human Resources Management Association, the US Coast Guard, the US Navy Seals, the USA Track and Field Olympic coaches, and national/regional chapters of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, the American College of Sports Medicine and the IDEA Health & Fitness Association.
Debra has also appeared on radio and major networks and cable stations in the Boston including FOX News, WCBS, New England Cable News, WEEI and many others.
