Participation-Based vs. Outcome-Based Wellness Programs
Over the past 30 years, it has become increasingly commonplace for employers to consider the pros and cons of financially incentivizing their employees to participate in worksite wellness programs. Participation-based wellness programs first came into popularity with the advent of corporate wellness programming in the 1990s, while outcome-based programs were introduced at the turn of the century in 2001. There are very few legal restrictions on participation-only programs as
