Frozen Meals That Are Good for You

healthy frozen meals

We all have those days when we get home from a long day at work and don’t feel like cooking dinner. That’s why it is a good idea to keep some back-up dinners in your freezer stash. When these stressful days occur, just pull a meal from the freezer, pop it in the microwave or oven and voila -- you are ready to eat with no clean up. Unfortunately, most frozen meals are loaded with salt, trans fats and sugar. It is hard to find healthy frozen meals. To make your life easier, we’ve rounded up some healthy frozen meal options to stock your freezer with for those last-minute meals.

  • Amy’s Gluten Free Black Bean and Quinoa: Try this quinoa and black bean filled vegetarian meal. It is loaded with fiber and is very filling.

  • Healthy Choice Power Bowls: The chicken sausage and barley bowl is out of this world. It contains sweet apple, barley and kale. Can you say superfoods?

  • Hilary’s World’s Best Veggie Burgers: Another vegetarian favorite. The same texture as a regular meat burger but without the grease and fat.

  • Luvo Thai-Style Green Curry Chicken: With 15 grams of protein, 24 grams of whole grains and ½ cup of vegetables you can’t beat this healthy meal. The flavors are amazing -- you won’t even know it was frozen.

  • Udi’s Gluten-Free Margarita Pizza: Who said being gluten-free meant you couldn’t enjoy your favorite foods? This pizza is under 370 calories with 2 grams of fiber and contains no trans-fat or hydrogenated oils.
