Wellness Workdays, a leading provider of corporate wellness programs, announces its acquisition of Maine-based Occupational Medical Consulting, LLC (OMC). OMC designs and delivers leading-edge health and wellness programs nationwide and will operate as OMC Wellness, a subsidiary of Wellness Workdays.

Founded in 1996, OMC is known for its robust wellness program administration, health coaching and proprietary wellness software. Its unique and effective approach to behavior change has resulted in established wellness program participation rates well above the national norms.

"OMC provides an exciting opportunity for Wellness Workdays to further enhance and expand its wellness offerings,” said Debra Wein, founder and CEO of Wellness Workdays and CEO of OMC. “The organization shares our common vision related to a high-touch, outcomes-driven approach to wellness, as well as a passion and commitment to promote employee health and well-being. The acquisition brings our proprietary approach to wellness together with OMC’s highly trained health coaches to drive better health outcomes and ultimately, healthier employees.”

Based on a philosophy that behavior change is personal, OMC’s health coaches are highly skilled in motivational interviewing and the science of behavior change that drives results. The organization’s coaching software, which can be licensed to health systems and employers offers a proven, physician-driven method to standardize the coaching process and guide healthy behavior changes that reduce health-related risks. As a result, OMC’s clients have experienced reductions in behavioral health risks and costs risks, which have been proven to reduce and prevent excess medical spending and insurance premium increases.
