Program Information

Program & Application Requirements
  • Applicants interested in applying to Johnson and Wales University indicate that on their supplemental application. They will receive a link to submit an application to Johnson and Wales University.

  • GPA of 2.85 or better is required to apply. 

  • No GMAT/GRE is required.

Program Timeline 
  • Accepted students will complete a minimum of 2 courses each semester as well as 16-25 supervised rotation hours per week.

    • Prospective interns are required to find qualified preceptors in the areas of clinical nutrition, food service management, community nutrition, and a concentration to complete the internship requirements. Sites and preceptors are subject to approval by Wellness Workdays DI. ​

  • Coursework begins in July with JWU  (distance education). All coursework is completed online.​​

  • Students will complete their internship requirements and master's degree requirements concurrently according to the plan below. 

Tuition 
  • WWDI program tuition is $12,000 and paid separately from JWU tuition.

Graduation Requirements 

 

  • To graduate and complete the internship requirements, students must earn a graduate degree, satisfy the minimum 1000 supervised practice hours, all didactic hours, assignments, rotation evaluations, practice exams and complete an exit interview at program completion. For the MBA degree, students must complete ten required courses plus three concentration electives (42 credits).

 

  • Following successful completion, you will receive a Verification Statement and your name will then be submitted to the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) by the WWDI Program Director as evidence of eligibility to sit for the (RDN) credentialing exam.  Students will graduate in May of program year two with a Master of Business Administration degree from Johnson and Wales University.

Accreditations
  • WWDI has been granted full accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).  Johnson and Wales University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE), through its Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE).

Who Should Apply?

Students who have or will be completing a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) program accredited by ACEND and be receiving a DPD verification statement.

This program is ideal for recent graduate who hold a Bachelor's degree as well as those with an interest in registered dietitian programs seeking to change careers.
